Club Information

Flackwell Heath Lawn Tennis Club was established in the 1970s and has grown steadily over the years. The club offers local residents the chance to play tennis, improve their skills in junior and senior coaching, enter competitions and attend social events, all within a fun and friendly environment.

We have recently completed a major overhaul of the playing surface here at Flackwell Heath. We have always had hard courts , but these have be replaced with a new synthetic turf called 'Lano Turf'. The new surface will be softer under foot which will help with the pressure we all put on our knees playing tennis. It will also enable the courts to be used in all weathers, that also includes the rain and snow! They are similar to 'Tiger Turf', but new improvements made to Lano mean it lasts a lot longer making it a more cost effective surface.

It's the first large scale change to the club and the first part of our phased improvements to the club in general. In future, we would like to replace all outside fencing, clubhouse upgrades and eventually add a third court. As we are a members only club, we are actively looking for sponsorship to achieve these goals and hope to make a better the all round experience for our current and any new members more enjoyable, and ultimately for the local area in general to benefit from better facilities.

The club has two Lano surface courts that have to installed new in 2017, preciously we had hard courts that you may see in the pictures. We have a small clubhouse with kitchen, toilet and storage, as well as a seating area just large enough for a few players to relax while waiting for rain to pass! There is some equipment, including balls, available for use. The courts are accessed via two gates with combination locks. The combination code is regularly updated and communicated to members via the website. The clubhouse is padlocked; keys are available to all members.
